Reverend Gail Sutton is the First Lady of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church where Dr. Gregory A. Sutton is the Senior Pastor. As the First Lady, she expects “great things from God and attempts great things for God.” She desires to operate totally in the will of God by not only being a hearer of His Word, but also a doer of His Word.
Proverbs 3:27 says, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.” From this premise, the Lord gave First Lady Gail the vision twelve years ago to start a women’s ministry, “Women of Helping Hands.” This ministry has adopted schools in the community and sponsored gifts for needy children, our “ANGELS”. In 2011, The Women of Helping Hands ministry also released its first quarterly magazine, Chosen. Its publication focuses on every facet of the women of God and inspires and informs its readers in all aspect of Christian and everyday living.
First Lady Gail continues to work through Project Seraphims, her nonprofit organization that provides quality educational instruction and support services to children and families in low income or homeless households. Project Seraphim has partnered with the City of Atlanta and Collier Heights Recreation Center to provide meals, a reading program, summer activities, and after-school tutoring.
As the wife of a Pastor, First Lady Gail strives to walk in a countenance that reflects the presence of the Lord in her life. She has a sincere heart for God’s people and she believes, “God never asks about our ability or inability…just our Availability!” She thanks God for her husband; Dr. Gregory Sutton, her children; Theresa, Tony, Keisha, LaQuay and her eight grandchildren.
